Fines imposed by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) in the province of Málaga during 2025 amounted to a total of 28,394,686 euros. This figure represents a slight increase of 0.46% compared to the 28,262,896 euros collected in 2024.
Of the total collected, a significant portion, 12,644,865 euros, came from speeding fines. These specific sanctions showed a decrease of 10.51% compared to the previous year, when 14,131,011 euros were recorded for this offense.
Nationally, the organization Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA) reports that Traffic speed cameras collected a record sum of 246,802,934 euros in 2025, a 14% increase from the previous period. AEA attributes this rise not to increased indiscipline, but to the activation of new devices by the DGT.
The AEA report highlights that 41.5% of total traffic fine revenue in Spain (excluding the Basque Country and Catalonia) comes from speeding penalties.
Within the national ranking of the most fining speed cameras, two are located in the province of Málaga, both on the A7 highway. The speed camera at kilometer point 968 in Rincón de la Victoria processed 45,050 tickets in 2025, a reduction from the 67,502 in 2024. The camera at kilometer point 978, at the eastern entrance to the capital, recorded 42,088 tickets, increasing its sanctioning activity compared to the 33,358 from the previous year.
Another speed camera in Málaga, located at kilometer point 10 of the MA-20 in the capital (Valle Inclán area), is also among the most active in issuing fines, with 20,320 tickets in 2025, representing a decrease from the 33,061 in 2024.
Málaga leads the Andalusian ranking for speed cameras issuing the most fines, with three devices among the most active. It is followed by Almería, Seville, and Granada with two each, and Córdoba with one.
