The initiative, which has a two-year execution period, aims to ensure the safety and proper condition of the 446 playgrounds distributed across the city's 11 districts. Interested companies have until July 29 to submit their bids for this public tender.
The action plan is divided into four distinct lots, covering everything from the acquisition of new metal and wooden elements to the replacement of physical training equipment and safety flooring. This framework agreement will allow the council to intervene in facilities efficiently, without the need to process each repair independently.
This measure continues the maintenance work carried out in recent years. Between 2023 and mid-2026, improvements were made to 161 playgrounds, including the creation of new play areas in locations such as Los Cassinis, Galeón, Chaves, Aurelio Gomollón, Lágrima, and plaza de Bailén.
In addition to urban renovations, the program has extended its reach to forest parks, establishing children's areas in locations such as Hacienda Clavero, Andrés Jiménez Díaz, La Pelusa, La Concepción, and Monte Victoria.
