The central event of this celebration is scheduled for the morning of October 12, 2027, coinciding with Hispanic Day. The main setting will be the atrium of Málaga Cathedral, where the images will gather at a single altar.
The proposal, which has been disseminated by local media, suggests that the images will not parade on their usual thrones, but on special platforms. After the gathering at the Cathedral, all the Marian devotions would process together along a common route, which could include the emblematic Calle Larios, before returning to their respective churches.
The six Marian images selected for this grand procession are Santa María de la Victoria, patroness of the diocese; Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada; the Divina Pastora de las Almas; María Auxiliadora Coronada; Nuestra Señora del Rosario de El Palo; and one of the 'simpecados' from the Rocío brotherhoods of Málaga or La Caleta.
The board of directors of the Association has framed this grand procession within a broader commemorative program. The first confirmed event is the proclamation of the 25th anniversary, which will take place on April 18, 2026. The organizers have expressed their intention that the procession will not generate economic costs for the participating brotherhoods, seeking external funding.
However, the realization of this project still requires overcoming several obstacles. Its celebration is subject to the approval of the Bishopric of Málaga and the Cathedral Chapter, as well as the consent of the governing bodies of each involved guild. Although the City Council has expressed its support, none of these ecclesiastical or internal authorizations have been granted yet.
The initiative has also generated some discontent among certain brotherhoods, who criticize the lack of internal communication. Sources close to the media have pointed to a perception of «improvisation» and «disorder», warning of the risk that the project will not prosper without the necessary consensus. The Association of Glories, as it is popularly known, represents the guilds that process Marian images in moments of joy, differing from the penitential brotherhoods of Holy Week.
