The procession of Málaga's Patron Saints, San Ciriaco and Santa Paula, has had its start time changed this Saturday, June 20th, moved to 5:00 PM to avoid coinciding with the Málaga CF promotion match to the First Division.

The religious congregation announced the change because the sporting event was scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM, the original time for the procession's start. With this adjustment, the procession will now conclude around 8:00 PM, instead of the initially planned 10:30 PM.
Participants are required to be at the side entrance of the Church of the Martyrs by 4:15 PM. The route will commence from the parish church and will traverse streets including Santa Lucía, Granada, Plaza del Carbón, Plaza del Siglo, Molina Lario, Plaza del Obispo, Sancha de Lara, Larios, and Plaza de la Constitución, before returning to the Plaza de los Santos Mártires Ciriaco y Paula.
During the stop at Plaza del Obispo, the Cathedral's carillon will play the Hymn to the Patron Saints, and the Antonio López Dance School will perform traditional malagueña dances. The choirs Son de Málaga and Almendrales will perform at the closing ceremony back at the parish.
The feast day of San Ciriaco and Santa Paula is celebrated this Thursday, June 18th, with a Solemn Mass at 8:00 PM in their parish. On Friday, June 19th, the day before the procession, a floral offering will take place starting at 8:00 PM.
San Ciriaco and Santa Paula are the Patron Saints of Málaga and are featured on the city's coat of arms. Their devotion dates back to the conquest by the Catholic Monarchs, who designated them as Patrons in 1490. They were persecuted in the 4th century by Emperors Diocletian and Maximian.
