Málaga consolidates its leadership in golf tourism with the Iagto European Convention
The province hosts one of the most important professional gatherings in the sector, highlighting its contribution to de-seasonalisation.

The province of Málaga consolidates itself as a European benchmark in golf tourism, hosting the Iagto European Convention, a key event for the sector.
Turismo Costa del Sol has highlighted the leading role of the province of Málaga in golf tourism during the inauguration of the Iagto European Convention 2026 (IEC), held in Málaga. This event is one of the most significant internationally for the sector.
The event brought together 983 delegates from 54 countries, marking the largest attendance of golf professionals in Spain. The convention, organized in collaboration with Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol, Turismo Andaluz, and the City Council of Málaga, has seen a 26% growth compared to previous editions in the city.
Among the attendees are 348 specialized tour operators from 42 countries, along with suppliers, resorts, golf courses, and hotels. Over 11,000 business meetings were scheduled, consolidating the convention as a platform for commercialization. Spain, with 188 companies and entities, represents 40% of the suppliers, including over 80 Andalusian companies.
At the inaugural ceremony, the recent recognition of the Costa del Sol as the Best European Golf Destination 2025 was highlighted. The entity emphasized the "strategic weight" of golf in de-seasonalizing the offer and attracting high-spending visitors.

The convention includes professional sessions, business meetings, and familiarization trips. Around 40 tour operators will participate in fam trips organized by Turismo Costa del Sol and Turismo de Cádiz to showcase the Andalusian offer.
The direct economic impact of the event is expected to exceed two million euros. Furthermore, Iagto estimates that the commercial activity generated will reach over 30 million euros in incremental sales for golf tourism in Andalusia over the next three years.
By participating in this new edition of the Iagto European Convention, Turismo Costa del Sol continues to strengthen its international positioning strategy in the golf segment, consolidating the province's image as a leading European destination.
