The mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, conveyed the city's sorrow and called for the eradication of this social scourge. "The only way to prevent and minimize it as much as possible is through education in equality and respect from the very beginning: from school, from the family environment, and from society," he told reporters.

The victim, identified as Vicky, resided in the La Palma neighborhood and served as the president of the residents' association. Neighbors describe her as a hardworking individual dedicated to improving the building's coexistence and well-loved in the area. The alleged perpetrator, aged 56, reportedly took his own life after the murder, and there were no prior domestic violence complaints against him.

The discovery of the bodies, both with gunshot wounds, occurred in a neighborhood residence. Autopsies will clarify the exact time of the crime, which may have happened the previous night. Neighbors of the couple expressed their shock, describing them as a "normal" and "non-confrontational" couple, although they acknowledged that "behind closed doors, we don't know what went through his mind."
