The collection will take place at the Municipal Center for Participatory Resources, located at Calle Corregidor Francisco de Molina, 1, in the Cruz del Humilladero district. Donations can be made between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
This solidarity campaign is organized by the Rapid Response Volunteer Group and the Civil Association Somos Integración. Its main objective is to address the urgent needs generated by the seismic events, which have caused significant damage and increased the demand for healthcare resources in various Venezuelan regions.
Priority is given to collecting medical material for hospitals and care centers. Requested items include emergency medications such as painkillers, antibiotics, and antiseptics, treatments for chronic illnesses, physiological saline, gauze, bandages, masks, and hand sanitizers. Donations of emergency lamps, flashlights, and batteries are also requested, as these are crucial elements in case of power outages.
The initiative is part of the Málaga City Council's response to the catastrophe. Last Friday, the Directorate of External Action contacted the Consul General of Venezuela in Spain, Nancy Lira, to express condolences and offer municipal collaboration.
As a show of support, the City Council will observe a minute of silence this Monday at 12:00 PM on the outer staircase of the City Hall.
The Rapid Response Volunteer Group, founded in 2020, is dedicated to coordinating emergency actions. It has participated in various humanitarian crises, including support for vulnerable groups during the pandemic, aid after the DANA in Málaga and Valencia in 2024, assistance to populations affected by the war in Ukraine, and emergency campaigns following earthquakes in Syria, Turkey, and Morocco.
