Málaga CF's preparation for their return to the elite of Spanish football now has a defined roadmap. According to General Director Kike Pérez, the preseason will commence around July 13th. The team will undertake a training camp in Estepona, a common practice in recent years.
The staging of the Costa del Sol trophy is still subject to the stadium's pitch transition, making it difficult to play the weekend before the competition begins. The possibility of scheduling it during the first FIFA international break, a two-week pause, is being considered to ensure project continuity.
Regarding the number of friendly matches, Kike Pérez confirmed that "a few more" than the initially planned four will be played, although the space to schedule more encounters is limited. The club's location in Málaga facilitates the selection of opponents, given the abundance of teams in the province.
Concerning season tickets for the 2026/27 season, a price increase is anticipated due to the change in category. The club assures that the rise will be proportionate and not drastic, despite being an important revenue source. The General Director indicated that more details will be provided next week, including an explanatory video.
Kike Pérez noted that prices are being adjusted and the increase will be less than that recorded in the last season in the First Division (2017/18). In that season, prices ranged from 120 euros for the Grada de Animación to 750 euros for Tribuna 1 for renewals, with an increase for new season ticket holders.
“"The fans have responded. On the Almería match day, 99.4% of tickets were sold. Prices will go up, but it will be less than what was paid years ago in the First Division. We have to increase it, but we are adjusting that number."
