The pre-season friendly match between Málaga CF and Leicester City has undergone a last-minute venue change. The encounter, originally scheduled to take place at the Estadio Nuevo Mirador in Algeciras, will now be held at the facilities of Marbella Football Center, a frequent location for the Martiricos team's summer preparation matches.
The primary reason for this relocation is the condition of the pitch at the Algeciras stadium. After playing against Cádiz CF there previously, the British team communicated their refusal to play again in the same location, citing concerns about potential injuries due to the state of the playing surface.
Tickets purchased for the match in Algeciras will not be valid at the new venue. Buyers will automatically receive a refund. In-person ticket office refunds will be processed starting next Monday, July 27th. New tickets for the match can be purchased through the Marbella Football Center website.
Leicester City, who recently were relegated to the third tier of English football, will feature Harry Souttar in their defense. Souttar was a notable player in the last World Cup. He joined the club when they were in the top flight, but an injury sidelined him. Despite limited appearances in recent years, his World Cup performance has generated significant interest.
