Hundreds of cyclists of all ages filled the streets of Malaga this Sunday to participate in the 19th 'Día de la Bici', a festive day that combined sports, advocacy for bike lanes, and a family atmosphere.

The city of Malaga was filled with color and pedals this Sunday with the celebration of the 19th edition of the ‘Día de la Bici 2026’. The event, held in an essentially family-friendly atmosphere, brought together hundreds of participants, from parents with their children to individuals with adapted bicycles, thus promoting sports activities and advocating for more and better cycling infrastructure.
Good weather accompanied the attendees, encouraging them to join this sporting event that traversed the city's main streets. The competition was structured into two modalities with distances of 12 and 5.5 kilometers, adapted to different experience levels. The long route started at 10:00 AM from the Paseo del Parque, while the shorter route departed at 10:45 AM from the parking lot of the Faculty of Educational Sciences. Both routes concluded at the Paseo del Parque.
Organized by the City Council of Malaga, through its Sports Area, and with the collaboration of Fundación Unicaja and El Corte Inglés, the event offered free registration and the distribution of participant numbers. As in previous editions, prizes were awarded for the most original bicycles and costumes, and the event carried the sustainability seal ‘Málaga, cómo te quiero’. Helmet use was mandatory for those under 16 years of age.
