The gala, jointly organized by the Association of Sports Journalists of Malaga (APDM) and the Malaga Association of Press Graphic Informants (AMIGP), took place at the Victoria Brewery Factory. The event brought together over a hundred professionals and personalities from the sports, journalistic, and institutional spheres, and featured the presentation of more than one hundred works, demonstrating the growing interest in this discipline.
The top award, the Golden Objective - Victoria Brewery Award, with a prize of 1,200 euros, was given to photographer Javier Albiñana. The Silver Objective – APDM Award (600 euros) went to Migue Fernández, and the Bronze Objective – AMIGP Award (400 euros) honored the work of Jorge Álvarez Fernández.
One of the notable novelties this year was the CaixaBank Objective Inclusion Award, focused on adaptive sports. This award, including a prize of 700 euros, was presented to photographer Carlos Guerrero Ferreira. Additionally, the jury granted a Special Award in this category to José Manuel Campos, recognizing the quality and sensitivity of his submission with 200 euros.
Organizers highlighted the consolidation of these awards as a benchmark in Andalusian sports photojournalism, praising the high caliber of the submissions. The ceremony also included a performance of the winning copla from the Best Sports Copla of the Malaga Carnival and the presentation of the winning project from the Impulsa APDM initiative, titled “EL XIIDEAL” and created by journalist Guillermo Bermejo.
Following the awards ceremony, an exhibition featuring a selection of the participating images was inaugurated. It will be available to the public at the Victoria Brewery Factory for the coming weeks. This initiative underscores the organizing entities' commitment to showcasing photographic talent and preserving the memory of sports in Malaga.
