Summer-like conditions are taking hold in Málaga, with warm weather expected to persist throughout the weekend. Temperatures will remain above 25 degrees Celsius along the coast, as well as in areas of the Guadalhorce Valley, the Antequera region, and La Axarquía. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts Saturday highs of 26 degrees in Vélez-Málaga and 27 degrees around La Viñuela, with minimums of 17 degrees in the capital.
For Sunday, temperatures are expected to remain consistent with Saturday's, with isolated increases inland. Towns such as La Viñuela could reach 29 degrees, while Coín will see 27 degrees. In Vélez-Málaga and Antequera, thermometers will stay at 26 degrees, similar to other municipalities like Tolox. The capital and most of the coast will continue at 25 degrees.
Next week will bring a further intensification of the heat, particularly in the province's interior. Although the easterly wind will moderate coastal temperatures, the Guadalhorce Valley, Antequera, and La Axarquía are expected to exceed 30 degrees starting Tuesday. Municipalities like Villanueva de Algaidas and La Viñuela could reach 31 degrees, with others such as Coín, Alameda, Archidona, and Canillas de Aceituno hitting 30 degrees. The rise will continue on Wednesday, with forecasts of up to 35 degrees in Villanueva de Algaidas by Thursday.
“"These are temperatures more typical of July."
These thermal conditions, described by Aemet as “more typical of July,” have led the province of Málaga to record the highest temperatures in the country on several days this week. Local meteorological sources have confirmed that the atmospheric situation is “very stable” and temperatures are “above normal” for this time of year. The average temperature for April is typically 21.9 degrees in Málaga and 20 degrees in Antequera.
