This edition of the Málaga Book Fair, the fifty-fifth, is distinguished by its growth, hosting 71 stalls from bookstores and publishers, representing an increase of nearly 10% compared to last year. Attendees will benefit from a 10% discount on all book purchases.
Among the most prominent names visiting the fair are the British authors Irvine Welsh, known for the iconic Trainspotting, and Alan Hollinghurst, a Booker Prize winner, as well as the Argentine Martín Caparrós. The program also reserves space for local talent, with the participation of writers such as Esther García Llovet and Violeta Niebla, and the writer Ángelo Nestore.
“"We want to be part of this story. We believe a Fair is not sponsored, it is accompanied."
The president of the Book Fair Association, Noelia Clavero, has praised the organization's commitment and the collaboration of key entities such as Fundación Unicaja, UMA, UNIA Technological Headquarters, and Fundación Pérez Estrada, which make this event possible. Fundación Unicaja, in particular, has been highlighted for its long-standing connection with the fair, participating with a stall for over two decades.
The Content Director of the FLM, Txema Martín, has detailed a program that seeks a dialogue between various forms of writing and thought, ranging from high literature to popular publishing phenomena, and from essays to contemporary narrative. Special attention will be given to children's readers and young adult literature, with storytelling workshops and the presence of authors such as Alina Not, Raquel Tirado, and Arantxa Comes.
This edition's poster, designed by Estudio Santa Rita under the motto "Books with the scent of the coast," pays homage to Málaga and the centenary magazine that was an emblem of the Generation of '27. The full program of signings and daily activities is available on the website and social media channels of the Feria del Libro 2026.
