The Málaga Book Fair has successfully concluded its 55th edition, establishing itself as a cultural benchmark in the province thanks to a high-level program and increased sales.

The event, which ran for eleven days since April 30, transformed the Parque into the Paseo de los Libros, hosting a record 71 stalls from booksellers, publishers, and institutions. Both organizers and participants have expressed their satisfaction with the perceived "leap in quality" of this edition.
Among the notable innovations were the expansion of activities and presentations to the Eduardo Ocón Venue, as well as the creation of the Hyundai Short Story Award Historias en Movimiento. This award, in its first edition, recognized a local author for his work Y los caballos se extinguieron, a story that, according to its creator, addresses the unease with today's hyper-connected world.

"The general feeling among booksellers and publishers is that daily sales have grown compared to last year, which was already positive."

Although the final economic balance will be presented in the coming days, preliminary figures already indicate sales growth, despite several days being affected by rain. The program included the participation of renowned literary figures, both national and international, contributing to the public's positive reception.
The closing ceremony featured the poet and philosopher Chantal Maillard, who delivered a conference on the connection between thought and emotion. Additionally, a music and poetry concert was held by singer María Rodés and writer and translator María López Villalba.
The Málaga Book Fair is organized by the Málaga Book Fair Association, with the support of various entities such as the Málaga City Council, the Unicaja Foundation, Cervezas Victoria, Hyundai, Famadesa, and Arteico, as well as the collaboration of the Diputación de Málaga and the Junta de Andalucía.
