The Spanish National Organization of the Blind (ONCE) has presented a positive balance in the province of Málaga, reaching record figures in various areas during the past fiscal year. Social investment aimed at promoting education, accessibility, and inclusion for blind or severely visually impaired individuals amounted to 18.67 million euros. Leonor Basallote, vice-president of the ONCE Territorial Council, emphasized that "behind all these figures are people, and that is what we want you to take away."
Sales of ONCE's gaming products generated revenues of 201.5 million euros in 2025, representing a 5.16% growth compared to the previous year, surpassing the Andalusian average of 4.69%. Of this amount, 114.46 million euros were returned to citizens in the form of prizes, the largest sum ever distributed. For every 100 euros earned, 56.8 euros return to citizens as prizes, while 32.1 euros are allocated to salaries and management costs, and the remaining 11.1 euros to social care.
The ONCE Social Group consolidates its position as the third-largest non-public employer in Spain, with 80,000 professionals. In Andalusia, it has 16,558 employees, of whom 3,445 are from Málaga. The province added 108 new hires last year, and the sales network reached 1,332 workers, all with disabilities, the highest figure recorded in the province.
58.9% of the total workforce of the ONCE Social Group has some type of disability, making it the largest employer of people with disabilities worldwide. Additionally, they employ 32,000 people without disabilities, promoting inclusion and talent attraction. Equality is also a pillar, with 45% of the ONCE workforce being women.
This growth is also reflected in the group's other areas: ONCE increased its national sales of social lotteries by 3.4% to 2.927 billion euros; Ilunion grew in turnover by 9.6% to 1.443 billion euros; and Fundación ONCE raised 154.5 million euros for projects aimed at the disability sector.
José Manuel Fernández, an ONCE affiliate in Málaga, highlighted the importance of the 'Estreno' application, a Neurological Training platform that enhances users' sensory perception. According to Fernández, these initiatives materialize ONCE's revenues into "fun" and "necessary" tools for exercising the mind, something often overlooked in favor of physical exercise.
