The structure, which had to be moved to the Plaza Albert Camus area to allow for the works on the Málaga Metro extension (Guadalmedina-Hilera section), has been reinstated after the urban redevelopment phase of the area concluded.
The Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Planning and Housing, which is promoting the works, coordinated the operation with the Board of Trustees of Padre Tiburcio Arnáiz Muñoz. The definitive relocation was agreed upon once the progress of the works permitted the monument's restoration.
The repositioning operation was carried out with the assistance of a 200-ton crane, ensuring all necessary safety measures within the perimeter of the operation.
The urban redevelopment works in Armengual de la Mota, adjacent to the Guadalmedina Station of the subway, are in their final phase, with completion expected this summer after the execution of the tunnel and the deck slab.
