The renovation project has transformed a space with a 413 square meter plot and 1,133 square meters of built area, equipping it with more efficient facilities adapted to the current needs of patients and professionals. This action is part of the healthcare group's commitment to healthcare excellence.
Among the most notable improvements are the expansion of the outpatient consultation area, the modernization of the physiotherapy zone, and a general reorganization of healthcare spaces. The facade, with access via Ruiz López street, has been restored to ensure greater accessibility, especially in front of the adult and pediatric emergency departments of the main hospital building.
“"This project has allowed us to transform the building into a space fully adapted to current standards of safety, efficiency, and functionality, optimizing both the patient experience and the work of professionals."
The building has also incorporated high-efficiency energy systems, including an envelope with a SATE finish, which improves thermal insulation and contributes to indoor comfort and sustainability. The internal distribution has been optimized, housing cardiology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and dentistry consultations on the ground floor, with a laboratory that has its own waiting room and extraction booths. The dental area has been equipped with a dental CT scan and specialized treatment chairs.
The first floor accommodates specialties such as otolaryngology, urology, general and digestive surgery, internal medicine, oncology, and traumatology, including a Biological Traumatology Unit. The second floor is dedicated to the Traffic and Physiotherapy Unit, while the upper floors are reserved for multiple uses. The basement has been equipped with a new kitchen, cold and dry areas, a cold room, a dishwashing system, and new changing rooms for staff.
With this renovation, HM Hospitals strengthens its presence in Málaga and consolidates its healthcare model, based on innovation and continuous improvement of the patient experience. This project joins other group initiatives in the province, such as the recent opening of the HM El Palo Polyclinic and the future constructions of the HM Mar de Alborán Hospital in Málaga and the HM Vélez-Málaga Hospital in the Axarquía malagueña.
