The extension of the first 4-kilometer section of the Guadalhorce highway has received final approval. This decision follows the dismissal of an appeal filed by a competing company against the tender proposal from the Ministry of Public Works.
The ratification by the Administrative Court of Contractual Appeals solidifies the award proposal to the UTE formed by Copisa, Constructora Pirenaica, and Arpo Empresa Constructora. It is anticipated that, after the contract signing, work could begin during the summer.
The works, costing 41 million euros, will cover the Casapalma-Cerralba section. This project involves the construction of 4.2 kilometers of highway on the A-357, from the end of the Casapalma interchange ramps to Cerralba. The route will run parallel to the existing road, which will be maintained as a service road.
A key element of the project will be a new 250-meter viaduct to cross the Río Grande. The final connection will be made in Pizarra via a new roundabout, leaving the future interchange for the next highway section (Cerralba-Zalea), which is currently in the drafting phase.
These sections are part of the inland axis, a project intended to extend to Ronda and Campillos. However, beyond the announcement of a 4-kilometer dual carriageway extension from Ronda, there is no information regarding the rest of the route, despite the Junta de Andalucía commissioning a technical study on the matter.
