This operation is part of a special road safety plan that the police force has been implementing for months in the city, aimed at monitoring unauthorized gatherings and identifying drivers who endanger public road safety.
Among the thirteen complaints processed, one is criminal and targets a driver who, while performing a drifting maneuver, nearly ran over a spectator standing at the roadside. This incident is being investigated as a potential crime against road safety, given the dangerous situation created for a civilian.
During the gathering, vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, performed various illegal maneuvers, including 'wheelies', speed competitions, and 'drifting', a driving technique involving oversteering and controlled skids. These actions were carried out in the presence of numerous spectators, significantly increasing the risk to public safety.
In addition to the criminal complaint, officers have filed eight administrative complaints for drifting, where drivers were observed making high-speed, uncontrolled turns, endangering other vehicles and pedestrians. In one instance, a driver lost control and spun 360 degrees, while another vehicle drove on three wheels. Infractions also included two motorcyclists performing 'wheelies' and a driver speeding with a co-pilot in the trunk without any safety measures.
The administrative complaints will be managed by the Autonomous Tax Management Body of the Málaga City Council (Gestriam), while the criminal case will proceed through the judicial system. This action underscores the Local Police's commitment to improving road safety in Málaga and eradicating reckless practices that threaten citizens.
