The operation, which began early on Tuesday, April 28, is coordinated by the Instruction Section of the Málaga Court of Instance and has been declared secret. This intervention comes in response to a series of shootings reported in the area over recent weeks, the latest occurring on April 16.
Police sources explained that the operation focuses on violent clashes between two family clans. So far, most of the individuals under investigation in connection with these incidents have been apprehended.
During the 21 searches carried out in various streets of the neighborhood, officers seized ten firearms, counterfeit money, drugs, and other relevant items for the investigation. The scale of the operation required the participation of 250 officers from different police units, including UIP, GOES, GOIT, UPR, and BPPJ, as well as aerial support and K9 units.
A National Police helicopter has been flying over the area since 6:00 AM, providing aerial support to officers working on the ground, both in uniform and plain clothes. In recent weeks, at least two shootings have been reported in the area without injuries, in addition to two similar incidents recorded in January.
