Málaga CF forward Eneko Jauregi shared his thoughts on the team's current form, noting rivals' compliments and the high intensity of training under Funes.

Málaga CF player Eneko Jauregi spoke with Área Malaguista to analyze the team's current situation. Despite limited playing time, the forward emphasized the importance of the squad and the energy brought by substitutes daily. The recent victory in Ceuta reflects the team's strong performance, earning recognition from opponents: «They say we are flying and that we wear rivals down,» Jauregi commented, preferring such remarks to making them himself.
Jauregi acknowledged the challenge of securing playing time due to the excellent form of teammates Chupete and Niño, particularly Chupete, whose emergence in professional football has greatly impressed him. «I've never seen such a young player burst onto the scene like this in the dressing room, but I hope he keeps scoring goals,» he said about his teammate.
The arrival of Funes as coach has brought about a significant change for the team. «Everything has changed since he arrived,» stated Jauregi, highlighting the high intensity of training sessions and the team's motivation to perform each weekend. «I haven't been on a team that trains with such intensity and eagerness to play on weekends,» he added.
The Málaga dressing room is known for its unity and positive atmosphere. Jauregi described it as «the best dressing room» he has been in, emphasizing his relationships with teammates like Lobete and Larrubia. The presence of local players adds special value, similar to his experience during the promotion with Amorebieta. «Having local players who want to give their all for the team is very good,» he noted.
Jokes are a common part of daily life, with hiding items and packing shoes being frequent occurrences. Jauregi also praised captain Ramón, whose recovery and performance after a knee injury have impressed him. «I would choose him,» he said regarding Ramón's impact on the game.
The player fondly recalled his goal against Andorra, the so-called «jaureginha,» which brought him peace of mind and eased the match's tension. The celebration after defeating Eibar was a true party, featuring projections, motivational videos from the staff, and a special message from his injured friend, Josué Dorrio.
Jauregi admires Roque Santa Cruz as a Málaga icon and has experienced the «madness» of the Málaga fanbase, even surpassing his time at Córdoba. The supporters' dedication, traveling despite the cold and distances, serves as a significant motivation. «You realize you're playing the match, but there are people who go to great lengths to be there,» he concluded.
