This heat episode, now in its third consecutive day, is impacting the Costa del Sol, Guadalhorce, and Axarquia regions. During peak hours, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, temperatures are expected to reach up to 37 degrees in areas like Coin and around 36 degrees in Velez-Malaga.
The westerly wind has not only raised temperatures but also affected coastal activities. At locations such as Playa de la Misericordia in Malaga city, strong gusts have made it difficult for beachgoers to remain on the shore due to blowing sand.
Starting Saturday, temperatures will begin to drop with the arrival of easterly winds, with maximums expected to reach around 32 degrees.
Meteorological authorities advise extreme caution during this heatwave. Recommendations include avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours, staying hydrated, and remaining in cool environments, particularly for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and those with chronic health conditions.
