The team from Málaga, which contributed seven athletes to the Spanish national team, was responsible for one-third of the medals won by the national squad. This achievement reaffirms their leading role in the discipline and highlights the strong momentum of Taekwondo-Do ITF in the province.
One of the most notable results was the silver medal secured by an athlete in the junior male individual Tul category. Their journey was flawless, overcoming competitors from Ireland, Italy, Sweden, and Poland, before narrowly losing 4-1 in the final to the Swedish representative, in their first continental final.
Additionally, the club added two bronze medals. One female athlete demonstrated her consistency by earning bronze in the individual female combat (-61 kg) category, marking her third consecutive podium finish at a European Championship. After defeating rivals from Hungary, Romania, and Poland, she conceded in a very close semifinal against Ireland. Another athlete made an outstanding debut in the pre-junior (-56 kg) category, confidently beating competitors from Ireland and Romania before falling in the semifinals to Ukraine, setting high expectations for the future.
“"These results are the fruit of daily work and the talent of our athletes, who carry the name of Málaga and Spain to the highest level."
The team's strong performance was complemented by other athletes who reached the quarterfinals, showcasing the club's high competitive level. Under the technical direction of their coach, the Spanish national team finished 15th in the medal table with a total of nine medals (1 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze), with Romania, Ireland, and Poland leading the country rankings.
The Club Invictus Málaga has highlighted the support received from the Málaga City Council, the Provincial Council, private sponsors, the Superior Sports Council, and the Royal Spanish Taekwondo Federation. With these results, the club solidifies its position as the main reference for Taekwondo-Do ITF in the province, maintaining its commitment to training and high-level competition.
The club's calendar already includes key upcoming events. On May 9, they will participate in the Roquetas de Mar Open, part of the National League. Subsequently, from September 28 to October 4, they will compete in the World Cup to be held in Benidorm. Finally, on November 28, the team will conclude this cycle of competitions with the Málaga Open, integrated into the European League.
