The project, awarded to the company Eiffage Infraestructuras, includes the superficial and structural rehabilitation of over 9,400 square meters of roadway. The objective is to enhance the safety, functionality, and durability of roads showing wear from time and traffic.
These works address resident demands and the need to maintain the municipal road network in good condition, particularly in areas providing access to agricultural holdings, scattered homes, and residential developments.
The improvements will focus on the Ribera road, a section of Número Uno road, Portales del Peñón avenue, and the finca La Máquina area, which encompasses several lanes such as La Máquina, La Acequia, Cortijo Viejo, Almazara, and calle del Pozo.
Initial interventions have concentrated on constructing retaining stone walls, totaling 270 meters in length and 810 cubic meters in volume. The plan also includes clearing invasive vegetation from verges, repairing deteriorated road surfaces, paving with hot mix asphalt, and adjusting manholes and inspection chambers to the new road level.
The estimated execution period is two months. The council aims to improve road safety, extend the lifespan of the pavements, and reduce future maintenance costs. Apologies have been extended to residents for any inconvenience, and the possibility of carrying out some paving work at night to minimize traffic disruption is being considered.
