The Third Vice-President and Minister of Economy, Treasury, and European Funds, Carolina España, announced that the Junta's Budget for 2027 will prioritize boosting housing policies and continuing tax cuts. These accounts will be the ninth prepared by Juanma Moreno's government since he took office as president of the autonomous community.
España, who also serves as spokesperson for the Andalusian Executive, highlighted housing as a central pillar for the upcoming fiscal year, identifying access difficulties as a significant problem for citizens, particularly in Málaga. The Junta plans to increase its investment in this area, aligning with the creation of a specific ministry for this matter.
The minister mentioned that public housing construction in Andalusia has quadrupled, although she did not provide specific figures or the comparison period for this statement. The second announced priority is the consolidation of fiscal policy, deepening the tax reductions implemented since 2019.
According to Junta data, the fiscal measures implemented since 2019 represent an annual saving of 1,794.2 million euros for Andalusian taxpayers. España argued that these reductions are compatible with funding public services and maintaining budgetary balance.
In the province of Málaga, over 939,000 taxpayers benefit from these tax reductions, with an estimated annual saving exceeding 560 million euros. The minister assured that the budget would be approved on time, thanks to political stability and the governance agreement.
España described these accounts as having the greatest parliamentary support in the community's history, emphasizing their importance as a tool for executing government policies and fulfilling its program. Annual approval, in her view, allows for maintaining a defined roadmap versus a budget extension.
These statements were made during an institutional visit to the Málaga Fair, an event the minister described as a showcase for the city, the Costa del Sol, and all of Andalusia, highlighting its capacity to attract visitors and boost economic activity.
