The Director General of Planning and Public Sector Evaluation of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development and Public Administration, María Dolores Gálvez Páez, has visited the regional headquarters of FAISEM. During the visit, she gained firsthand knowledge of the work the Foundation carries out for people with mental health problems, its care programs, and the commitment of its professionals to social inclusion and the fight against stigma.
Accompanied by the manager of FAISEM, Fernando Castro, the Director General toured the facilities and received information on the Foundation's various programs, services, and resources, as well as data on its services and objectives to promote the autonomy, recovery, and social inclusion of the individuals served.
The fundamental role of FAISEM's professionals was highlighted, whose multidisciplinary teams work from a person-centered perspective, promoting autonomy, social participation, and the exercise of rights. The visit also served to underscore the Foundation's commitment to awareness and visibility to eliminate prejudices and stereotypes associated with mental health problems.
FAISEM has emphasized the need for mental health care to go beyond assistance, incorporating actions aimed at facilitating social inclusion, access to housing, training, employment, and social relationships. The visit allowed for showcasing the work carried out and recognizing the professionals' involvement, as well as highlighting the need to continue advancing in the care and support of people with mental health problems and their families.
FAISEM continues to work to ensure that people with mental health problems can develop their capabilities and personal projects on equal terms, promoting their autonomy, participation, and full inclusion in society.
