The socialist leader from Cádiz, Fernando López Gil, is positioned to become one of the vice-presidents of the Bureau of the Parliament of Andalusia for the upcoming term. This appointment mirrors a similar role held by Irene García in the previous legislature.
The proposal, put forward by the general secretary of the Andalusian PSOE, María Jesús Montero, also designates her as the spokesperson for the Socialist Group. Completing the spokesperson structure are María Márquez as deputy spokesperson, Ángeles Férriz as second deputy spokesperson, and Rafael Recio as Group secretary. Olga Manzano from Granada will take on one of the secretariat positions within the Bureau.
López Gil's exact position within the Bureau will depend on the final agreements between the PP and Vox for the composition of this body. In the previous term, the PP held a majority in the Bureau, with Jesús Aguirre as president, Ana Mestre as first vice-president, and Irene García as second vice-president.
Fernando López Gil, an Andalusian parliamentarian since July 2025, has held various significant positions, including delegate of the Junta de Andalucía Government in Cádiz (2012-2017), Vice-Minister of the Presidency (2017-2019), senator and vice-president of the Justice Commission (2019-2021), provincial deputy of Cádiz, and currently serves as the first deputy mayor in the City Council of San Fernando. He is a prominent figure in the leadership of the Andalusian PSOE.
