The Pozoblanco City Council has disbursed over 14,000 euros in direct aid for the purchase of textbooks and school supplies for 242 students in the Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education for the 2025/2026 academic year.
These subsidies, with a maximum amount of 60 euros per student, aim to alleviate the economic burden on families and ensure that no child in Pozoblanco starts the school year without the necessary educational resources. The initiative is part of the Municipal Family Support Program, a consolidated policy of the local council.
The mayor of Pozoblanco, Santiago Cabello, highlighted the importance of these grants in promoting equal opportunities from the earliest educational stages. He emphasized that the measure is integrated into a broader set of municipal policies supporting children and families, reflecting a transversal approach in local government action.
“
"It allows us to continue supporting families, facilitating access to educational materials under equal conditions."
For her part, the Councilor for Families, Lola García, stressed the high participation rate in the call, which demonstrates the positive impact of these aids among citizens. She stated that the main objective is to facilitate the daily lives of families and ensure that all minors can start the school year with the necessary materials.

"The high participation reflects the good reception of this type of aid among families. The objective is to facilitate daily life and contribute to all minors being able to start the school year with the necessary resources."
A key aspect of this call is the requirement that textbooks be purchased from commercial establishments within Pozoblanco itself. This condition not only benefits households but also stimulates the local economy, supporting the municipal business fabric and generating a double positive impact.
