Pozoblanco is preparing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Teatro El Silo and the VIII White Night of Culture on September 11 and 12, transforming the city center into an open-air stage.

The commemorative program for the 20th anniversary of the Teatro El Silo and the VIII White Night of Culture in Pozoblanco was presented by the mayor, Santiago Cabello, and the Councilor for Culture, Marisa Sánchez. These events will turn the city center into a large open-air stage on September 11 and 12.
On Friday, September 11, at 9:30 PM, the facade of the Teatro El Silo will serve as a canvas for a video mapping featuring images from its history and 20 years as a cultural landmark. A surprise performance will precede it. At 10:00 PM, the Municipal Music Band of Pozoblanco will offer a concert at the Auditorium of Parque Aurelio Teno, presenting its repertoire for the Fair and Festivals in honor of Our Lady of Las Mercedes.
Mayor Santiago Cabello highlighted that the Teatro El Silo is a "great cultural symbol" and a space that has "marked the cultural, social, and artistic life" of Pozoblanco for two decades. He noted that celebrating the anniversary in the street, with a visual and musical proposal, is a special tribute to the building that "belongs to all the people of Pozoblanco".
The VIII White Night of Culture will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 8:00 PM to 1:30 AM, with performances every half hour at various points in the municipality. It will feature the participation of 12 collectives and a special visual arts proposal, consolidating it as a major cultural event on the local calendar.
The mayor emphasized the "enormous cultural vitality" of Pozoblanco, thanks to the talent and work of its collectives, who will fill squares and streets with "music, art, dance, and theater," transforming the city into an "open, participatory cultural journey designed for all audiences".
Councilor for Culture, Marisa Sánchez, explained that the White Night represents the "cultural richness" of Pozoblanco, showcasing the diversity of disciplines and collectives. Flamenco, music, theater, visual arts, and dance will "coexist in a program designed to explore Pozoblanco and enjoy its public spaces in a different way".
Saturday's program will begin at 8:00 PM in the Plaza del Pozo Viejo with the Peña Cultural-Flamenca “Agustín Fernández”. This will be followed by performances from the Fagotería del Conservatorio “Marcos Redondo” at the City Hall entrance (8:30 PM), the Asociación AFEMVAP on the steps of the Mercado de Abastos (9:00 PM), the Agrupación Musical “Nuestra Señora de la Soledad” on Calle Real (9:30 PM), and the Coro Romero “Voces de la Sierra” on the steps of El Risquillo (10:00 PM).
The night will continue with Aliara in the Plaza de las Obispas (10:30 PM), Amigos de la Ronda y el Bolero at the rear entrance of the Church of Santa Catalina (11:00 PM), the chirigota “El Grifo” in the Plaza del Pósito (11:30 PM), Juan Vázquez Fernández in Parque de La Blanquita (12:00 AM), the Escuela de Cante y Guitarra de Javier Muñoz “El Tomate” in Parque Don Bosco (12:30 AM), the Asociación “Amigos del Baile” on Avenida Villanueva de Córdoba (1:00 AM), and will conclude with La Trastienda Teatro at the Auditorium of Parque Aurelio Teno (1:30 AM).
Additionally, the White Night will feature the installation "Reciclando con Arte" (Recycling with Art), an exhibition of local artists at the fountain in Paseo Marcos Redondo, open from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Participating creators include Óscar Muñoz, Aida Muñoz, Claudia Torrico, María Gallego, Sofía Rubio, Juan Cruz Calero Torrico, Fidela Pozuelo, Antonio Arévalo, Carmen Pozuelo, María Teresa Redondo Herruzo, Sonia Domínguez, Natividad Pérez, Francisco Sánchez Gordillo, María Dueñas, Araceli Gómez, Manuel Gil Dueñas, Pilar García Caballero, Jesús Javier Redondo, and María Luisa Torres Díaz.
Marisa Sánchez thanked the "involvement of all the collectives, artists, and participants" who make the program possible, emphasizing that "without them, it would be impossible to develop such a broad, vibrant, and representative night of local culture." She encouraged residents and visitors to "go out into the streets, explore the different spaces, and enjoy a night designed to celebrate shared culture."
