The group has questioned the project's viability due to its high water consumption, estimated at 26 million liters per year. This figure is particularly concerning for the organization following the water crisis that has affected the Los Pedroches region, where thousands of citizens have suffered from drinking water supply restrictions for months.
The party has described the initiative as a political irresponsibility that puts pressure on already strained aquifers. Furthermore, they have warned about the negative impact of this industrial model on the social fabric, arguing that it displaces small livestock farms that practice extensive breeding and respect for the dehesa environment.
Given this situation, the organization has demanded that the Junta de Andalucía immediately deny the expansion license. Their requests include the need for an audit of the cumulative environmental impact of intensive farms in the area and greater support for local farmers who contribute to the economy and landscape conservation.
