The regional administration has finished the road surface improvement works in the urban areas of Torre Cardela and Guadahortuna, as part of the Paving Plan. These actions aim to facilitate resident travel, as these routes serve as the most direct connection to the A-92 highway.
The works, which extend to an eight-kilometer stretch of the road linking Torre Cardela with Morelábor (A-401), will continue starting this Monday. The total investment for the province of Granada under this plan amounts to 17.5 million euros, designated for the comprehensive renewal of numerous roads.
“"historic investment"
The acting Minister of Development, Territorial Planning, and Housing, Rocío Díaz, highlighted the "historic investment" of the Paving Plan in the province, estimated at 17.5 million euros. According to her statements, this plan will enable "the integral renewal of many roads essential for structuring the territory and facilitating the travel of its residents."
The intervention on the A-401, connecting Torre Cardela with Morelábor and the A-92, was previously announced by the minister late last year during a meeting with the mayor of Torre Cardela, María Vera. The current works are located between kilometer markers 74 and 82, concluding at the junction with the Iznalloz-Darro road (A-308).
The Paving Plan at the Andalusian level has a budget of 151.5 million euros, of which 17.5 million are allocated to Granada, divided into two lots. The planned actions include the repair of defects, pavement milling and replacement, restoration of lower layers, laying of bituminous mixtures, sealing, repainting of horizontal signage, and replacement of containment and beaconing elements.
Additionally, the replacement of expansion joints in structures and coils in gauging stations is contemplated. The contracts have an estimated duration of seven months, with the possibility of extension to increase the allocated funds and the road sections addressed.
