What for years was an unused terrace on the first floor of the Huércal-Overa Sports Pavilion has been completely transformed into a modern multi-purpose hall. This intervention expands the capabilities of the municipal sports complex.
The expansion works, recently completed, involved an investment exceeding 220,000 euros, co-financed by the Junta de Andalucía. The new space is designed for children and young people, and will host everything from sports training to workshops and specific programs.
This new hall joins the recent addition of the Multi-purpose Hall, confirming Huércal-Overa's City Council strategy to move towards a “sports city” that meets the growing demand from residents, local clubs, and associations. The expansion enhances the building's capacity to host simultaneous activities.
Concurrently, and taking advantage of the summer season, maintenance and refurbishment work is being carried out in other halls and spaces of the pavilion. The aim is to ensure the optimal condition of the facilities for the upcoming season, reaffirming the commitment to improving public infrastructure and promoting local sports.
