The Councilor for Infrastructure Maintenance, Jerónimo García, has overseen the interventions at the CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe, highlighting the progress of the scheduled tasks. These actions address the needs communicated by the educational centers' management teams, collected annually by the council.
García indicated that by the end of August, it is expected that between 70% and 80% of municipal requests will have been executed, aiming to cover all feasible demands. The councilor emphasized the government team's commitment to maintaining public schools in optimal condition, also attending to improvements and investments that enhance facility quality.
Maintenance tasks include general repairs on windows, frames, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as masonry work to fix detected deficiencies. This year, special emphasis has been placed on reviewing and maintaining school roofs, addressing issues caused by recent heavy rains through cleaning gutters, repairing roofs, and replacing tiles to resolve humidity and leaks.
The municipal campaign also covers painting work in classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas of practically all centers. Specific improvements have been made to the children's areas of CEIP Sebastián de Córdoba and CEIP Juan Pasquau, where posts for sports nets have also been installed. Planting of vegetation in both schools is planned for the appropriate season.
Municipal cleaning staff are preparing the spaces once the works are finished. Ahead of the academic year's start, a final phase of minor relocations and classroom reorganization will be undertaken, addressing any needs that arise. The councilor thanked the involved professionals, most of whom use the City Council's own resources, for ensuring the centers are ready for the new term.
