Surveys conducted by TURJAEN, the association representing accommodation and tourism service companies in the province of Jaén, reveal a very positive outlook for the upcoming May Bank Holiday. The expected average provincial occupancy is 87.29%, marking a significant increase compared to the 83.63% recorded during the same period in 2025.
The monumental sites of Úbeda and Baeza are set to be the most sought-after destinations, with an anticipated occupancy rate of 94.02%, almost five points higher than the 89.25% achieved in 2025. The capital, Jaén, follows closely with 91.18%, while the Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park is expected to reach nearly 90%, specifically 90.13%, three points more than the preceding year.
Other regions also show encouraging figures. Sierra Mágina is projected to have 83.03% occupancy, the Sierra Andújar Region 77.34%, and Sierra Sur 75.83%, with the latter showing a notable improvement of over eight points compared to 2025. The Despeñaperros Natural Park, although with the lowest predicted occupancy at 61.63%, also sees growth from 58.23% last year.
“"These forecasts, combined with the strong results from Easter Week, compensate for the limited tourist activity during the first quarter of the year, which was affected by severe adverse weather conditions."
