The Ministry of Territorial Policy has expanded the list of municipalities in Cadiz eligible to receive government aid, covering 100% of the certified damages from winter storms.

A new resolution from the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, published on Saturday, June 13, has increased the number of beneficiary towns for aid aimed at mitigating the effects of the recent storm season that particularly impacted the Iberian Peninsula's south. In the province of Cadiz, a total of 41 out of its 45 municipalities will now have 100% of their technician-certified repairs covered.
Initially, the Government Sub-delegation had included 34 towns in Cadiz. The resolution's update published on Saturday incorporates municipalities such as Barbate, El Puerto, Conil, and San Fernando, which had previously criticized their exclusion. The Ministry justified this decision by stating that the natural disaster situation complicated the damage quantification process for local entities. Following an exhaustive analysis of data received by the Evaluation Commission in the Government Delegations of Andalusia and Extremadura, a greater number of affected areas meeting the established criteria have been identified.
The complementary resolution allows these new municipalities to be eligible for 100% cost compensation for damages. Local administrations will have until 3:00 PM on July 2 to apply for subsidies related to actions in the newly incorporated territorial areas.
The only four municipalities in Cadiz that have not submitted repair requests for damages are Puerto Real, La Línea de la Concepción, and Sanlúcar. The provincial capital, Cadiz, is also not included in this resolution, despite suffering coastal damage, as it did not process the corresponding application.
In total, the final resolution includes 721 municipalities across Andalusia and Extremadura. The Government has announced a maximum total amount of up to 2 billion euros for this aid, of which over 1.23 billion euros have already been approved. The Government Sub-delegation recently reported that in the province of Cadiz, 120 million euros had been allocated for 19 municipalities that had already submitted their applications.
