The Local Police of Vélez-Málaga has welcomed a new officer, who immediately joins the force after completing their mobility process, thereby strengthening the municipality's security.
The Vélez-Málaga Local Police force has seen a new addition, an officer who took office at the Town Hall. This integration follows the completion of the mobility procedure, allowing the officer to immediately join the municipal security body.
This incorporation is part of nine provision vacancies announced for 2026, which include seven open positions, one for mobility, and one reserve quota for military personnel. With this new effective, 27 officers have now actively joined the service during the current term.
It is expected that by the end of the current legislature, a total of 35 new officers will have joined the service in Vélez-Málaga, exceeding 100 active personnel in the municipality. Additionally, in 2025, six new officers were promoted, contributing to the continuous reinforcement of the force.
Local authorities have highlighted the work of Local Police professionals and mentioned other relevant measures, such as the recovery of the Civil Protection Group, investment in vehicles and equipment for the headquarters, and the installation of security cameras. Collaboration with other state forces to ensure citizen protection has also been emphasized.
