The measure, expected to be operational this summer, involves a company managing the service for a ten-year period, in exchange for an annual fee of approximately 200,000 euros. A key feature is free parking for residents whose vehicles are fiscally registered in the municipality and who are up-to-date with their tax payments.
The tender specifications have already been approved and will be published in the coming days on the State Contracting Platform, opening a 30-day period for submitting bids. Subsequently, contracting tables will be convened to award the service.
The new ordinance, definitively approved on March 26, seeks to facilitate parking for residents, tourists, and businesses, reducing traffic congestion and optimizing urban mobility. To achieve this, parking spaces will be divided into different color-coded zones, each with its own characteristics and schedules.
The Blue Zone will be designated for commercial and central areas, with a maximum parking time of 2.5 hours to encourage rotation. The Green Zone will be located in coastal and tourist areas of Rincón de la Victoria, allowing parking for up to 10 hours. The Red Zone, designed for longer stays in areas with second homes, will offer extended parking at a symbolic rate. Finally, the Orange Zone will be exclusive to residents in specific areas such as Calaflores and Nueva Cala during the summer.
The system will feature smart parking meters allowing payment by bank cards, coins, or QR codes, as well as a mobile application to manage parking and locate available spaces. Registered residents will only pay an annual fee of 6 euros to cover management costs, and vehicle control will be carried out using license plate readers.
