Those interested in participating in this prestigious copla competition have until May 10 to register. Requirements include being at least 16 years old and submitting four songs for the preliminary sessions, of which the first two will be performed.
The preliminary rounds will be held at the headquarters of Peña El Piyayo on five consecutive Saturdays: May 16, 23, and 30, and June 6 and 13. The grand final, featuring an orchestra, will take place in a public venue in the town as part of the Rincón de la Victoria Fair 2026.
The cash prizes for the finalists are 1,500 euros for first place, 1,000 euros for second, 750 euros for third, and 500 euros for fourth. Additionally, the winner will have the opportunity to perform, contracted by the City Council, at the following year's contest final.
The organization has stipulated that participants must indicate four songs for the final, without repeating any performed in the preliminary rounds. The official presentation of the contest and its poster will take place at the City Council during April.
