The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, accompanied by Paco Haro, family, and friends, presided over the unveiling of the Paco Haro Street sign, formerly known as Tajillo street. This designation, approved in the latest Corporation Council meeting, aims to highlight Haro's exemplary human, social, and cultural trajectory, and his constant commitment to the town.
Prior to the street sign unveiling, a ceremony was held in the Town Hall's Plenary Hall. During the event, the mayor presented Paco Haro with a copy of the plenary agreement certificate and a replica of the new street sign.
José Alberto Armijo emphasized Paco Haro's figure, defining him as a benchmark of "creativity, participation, culture, traditions, commitment, communication, and especially, solidarity." The mayor praised his "exemplary human and social trajectory" and congratulated him on this "well-deserved recognition," wishing him good health.
For his part, Paco Haro expressed his gratitude to the City Council, the mayor, and the spokespersons of the municipal groups from the Partido Popular, PSOE, and Izquierda Unida-Podemos in Nerja. During his speech, he recalled personal experiences on the street, including his father's carpentry workshop, his work in local radio, his time as a teacher at the Workshop School, and his contribution to local festivals.
