The initiative, organized by the Department of Education, aims to publicly distinguish the dedication and academic achievements of Nerja's youth. The ceremony was presided over by the Councilor for Education, Ana María Muñoz, accompanied by the Councilor for Youth, Daniel Rivas, and was attended by representatives from the educational centers, faculty, families, and the award-winning students themselves.
In this edition, a total of twenty students received awards. From the IES Sierra Almijara, the recipients were Malaika Vega, Bella Karolina Runol, Juan José Jaime, Antonio Jaime, Alicia Nicole Paulsen, Aitana Sánchez, Alba Romero, Noah Corbacho, Alena Bystritskaia, and Natalia Molis. From the IES El Chaparil, the awardees were Ángela Dolezal, Aitor Fossi, Guillermo Torrús, Antonio Rodríguez, Carla López, Saule Juskyte, Marina Rodríguez, Arsenii Pertsev, Tom Wild, and Estefanía Escobar. Each of the awardees received a cash prize of 500 euros.
Ana María Muñoz congratulated the students, emphasizing that "these awards are a recognition of the work, commitment, and sacrifice behind each excellent academic record. Today we celebrate the talent of our young people, but also the values that have allowed them to achieve these results: perseverance, responsibility, and the drive for self-improvement”.
The City Council also extended its congratulations to the management teams and faculty of both the IES El Chaparil and the IES Sierra Almijara, highlighting "their professionalism, dedication, and vocation of service, which are fundamental for students to develop their full academic and personal potential”.
