Five million tickets will feature a panoramic view of Maro beach, through which the ONCE aims to highlight its environmental potential, tourist appeal, and landscape value.
Mayor José Alberto Armijo emphasized the importance of this initiative for spreading the beach's image throughout Spain. He noted that this recognition for the beach, adjacent to the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Area, also aids in promoting Nerja as a tourist destination. He recalled that Calahonda beach (2006) and Burriana beach (2010) have previously been featured on ONCE tickets.
Marcelo Rosado, director of the ONCE in Málaga, expressed satisfaction with the organization's contribution to promoting Nerja, Maro, and the Costa del Sol as leading tourist destinations. He urged competent authorities to prioritize accessibility for people with disabilities in their tourism policies, deeming it fundamental for the quality and competitiveness of the tourism sector.
