The interventions will focus on the MA-3113 road, as it passes through the rural area of Triana in Vélez-Málaga, and on the MA-3108, which connects the towns of Benamargosa and Cútar. These enhancements aim to resolve long-standing deficiencies affecting traffic flow and user safety.
For the MA-3113, a drainage infrastructure project valued at 614,305.41 euros has been awarded to the company Peninsular de Contratas, SA. The primary goal is to eliminate the flooding problems that plague the road every time it rains, disrupting traffic even with light precipitation. The execution period for these works is five months.
The project, drafted by the Roads and Works service of the Málaga Provincial Council, includes interventions in the channels of the Moneda, Cañada de la Carraca, and Cañada de los Estudiantes streams. The road's grade will be raised at the Moneda stream, and prefabricated concrete frames will be installed to facilitate water flow beneath the road, in addition to burying and channeling sections of the stream with lateral walls.
Similarly, at the Cañada de la Carraca, a prefabricated concrete frame and an absorber will be installed to collect rainwater, while at the Cañada de Los Estudiantes, a concrete pipe and several absorbers will be constructed to evacuate the flow that currently reaches the road.
Furthermore, the Governing Board has also awarded a contract worth 340,466.79 euros to the company Sedinfra, SA for the adaptation of ditches and barriers on the MA-3108 road, between Benamargosa and Cútar. With an execution period of four months, this project includes concreting 2.4 kilometers of earthen ditches and raising the height of metallic safety barriers along approximately three kilometers of the road, enhancing safety on a route with an average width of 6.15 meters.
