The installation of a cafeteria kiosk at María Zambrano Park in Vélez-Málaga is scheduled for mid-June. This new service aims to enhance the experience for visitors, both children and adults, who come to enjoy this significant green area in the heart of the Axarquía region.
The concession for operating the kiosk has been granted for a period of 15 years, with the possibility of an extension for an additional five years. This duration is intended to ensure the project's viability and allow for the recovery of the investment made by the hospitality business managers.
“"This facility gives value to this public space, after being closed for so long, and it does so in a way that promotes local entrepreneurship and economic dynamism. We want lively parks, spaces where people want to be and enjoy themselves, and this kiosk will be a key piece to achieve this in María Zambrano Park."
The concessionaire, a local entrepreneur, has expressed his intention to offer a varied gastronomic selection including breakfasts, snacks, and dinners during the summer, as well as lunches in winter. His goal is to open the kiosk's doors by mid-June, coinciding with public interest events.
The concession also stipulates that the concessionaire must carry out the necessary adaptation works to provide the service. At the end of the operating period, the facility must revert to the City Council in perfect condition.
