The Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Axarquía Costa del Sol, through its president Jorge Martín, has announced the recent filming of a documentary about the Generation of '27 in Vélez-Málaga. The production, titled "Generation of '27, the poetry that changed the world," consists of four chapters and is an initiative by producer Lapa Creativa with the participation of RTVA.
The filming carried out this week in Vélez-Málaga will focus on the second chapter, dedicated to the Sin Sombrero group and with a particular emphasis on the figure of philosopher María Zambrano. The Axarquía Film Office, integrated into the Mancomunidad's Tourism Area, has been key in advising and managing these recordings, also collaborating with the Vélez-Málaga City Council and the María Zambrano Foundation.
Jorge Martín expressed his gratitude to Lapa Creativa for their work in introducing the figure of María Zambrano, a native of Vélez-Málaga, to the general public. He highlighted the importance of having an Andalucía Film office at the Mancomunidad's headquarters, as it allows them to showcase the potential of the region's towns as film locations for both national and international producers.
The president emphasized the "double value" of this production in showcasing the Axarquía region through a universal figure like Zambrano, whose work he considers essential for everyone to know. He underscored the "great work" of the Axarquía Film Office in promoting the region's culture and tourism.
María Zambrano maintained a close relationship of friendship and intellectual collaboration with prominent figures of the Generation of '27, acting as a living bridge between Spanish thought and the poetic avant-garde of the era.
Since 2019, the Axarquía Film Office has been part of the ‘Red de Ciudades de Cine de Andalucía’ (Network of Film Cities of Andalusia), a network of film offices that facilitates permits, streamlines procedures, and attracts productions to the region. It is also integrated into the ‘Gran Ruta de Cine de Andalucía’ (Great Film Route of Andalusia) and collaborates with other Andalusian film offices under the umbrella of the Andalucía Film Commission, a member of Spain Film Commission and the European Film Commission Network. Additionally, it is part of LAND, the Audiovisual and Digital Content Cluster of Andalusia.
