The town in the Sierra Sur of Jaén recreates the granting of the Royal Privilege of Villa awarded by Felipe II in 1558. Residents, dressed in period costumes, participate in an extensive program of activities that will last until Sunday.
The program includes the opening of the Mercado de la Villa Realenga, featuring stalls selling crafts, gastronomy, and ancient trades. Workshops on Clay and Olive Wood Carving are offered, as well as Archery activities and games for children.
The shows are varied, with Birds of Prey demonstrations, Dance and Ballet performances, Magic shows, juggling, puppetry, and aerial acrobatics. Theatrical guided tours of the Mill-Museum and foam cannons are also included.
