The Rector of the University of Jaén, Nicolás Ruiz Reyes, announced the new institutional campaign for the postgraduate studies offer—master's and doctoral degrees—for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. Ruiz Reyes highlighted that postgraduate studies are "the decisive step that brings students closer to the professional and research profile that truly excites and motivates them," under the slogan 'Today you decide who you will be tomorrow,' which "perfectly defines our spirit, reinforcing the image of a modern, diverse university deeply rooted in the territory."
Accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Official Studies, Hikmate Abriouel, the Rector stated that the UJA provides "the space, faculty, and necessary tools for their decisions to mature and expand," rather than imposing a mold. The institution's commitment is to transform vocations into professional realities with social impact, ensuring attractive career prospects, cutting-edge research, and a vibrant university life in a safe, diverse, and inclusive environment.
The campaign focuses on three pillars: the rapid integration of graduates into high-qualification positions, specialized training connected to the global market, and acting as a catalyst for social progress. The Rector emphasized the latest employability report from the UJA, which places the historical average insertion rate at 62.76%, a 3.52% increase from the previous year, and a 2.49% reduction in the unemployment rate among its graduates.
Nicolás Ruiz explained that "as knowledge increases, barriers fall" and that at the UJA, "knowledge functions as an elevator," as higher levels of study correlate with increased employment opportunities. He detailed that employability is significant at the Bachelor's level, notable at the Master's level, and approaches full employment at the Doctoral level, which encourages enrollment in postgraduate programs.
For the 2026/2027 academic year, the UJA will offer "total flexibility" with face-to-face, blended, and virtual programs across its campuses in Jaén and Linares. The offer includes 62 official master's degrees (two more than the previous year) and 23 Doctoral programs, supported by top-tier faculty and opportunities for internships in leading companies, aiming to train the professionals and researchers of the future.
