The Écija City Council held a Local Security Board meeting to coordinate preventive measures for September events, including the Virgen del Valle festival and the Real Feria.

The main objective is to organize and coordinate the various preventive measures that will be implemented in the city throughout September. Key events include the celebration of the day of the Virgen del Valle, the city's patron saint, on September 8th, and the Real Feria de Écija, scheduled from September 15th to 20th.
The patron saint's festival marks the first major event of the month. This year, the procession route has been modified at the request of the Brotherhood, aiming to bring the Virgin closer to streets she hasn't processed through before and reach more neighborhoods, with special attention to the Carmen area.
Regarding the Real Feria, the Local Security Board has overseen aspects such as the awarding and distribution of spaces for the amusement rides ('cachiritos'). Mayor Silvia Heredia emphasized the need for exhaustive coordination between those responsible for the bidding process and the security forces to ensure equitable distribution and compliance with all citizen guarantees.
Heredia also highlighted the importance of municipal supervision for the setup and dismantling of fair stalls, aiming to ensure the fair is enjoyed without incident by all age groups.
For her part, the delegate for Citizen Security, Rosario Delgado, reported that the Local Police will provide approximately 150 services during the fair, and there will be an increased presence of the National Police compared to previous years, as coordinated.
Furthermore, the VIII Charity March against Cancer, scheduled for October 24th at 6:30 PM, was also on the agenda. Delgado mentioned that this event, which grows in scale each year with nearly 4,000 t-shirts prepared, required discussion of both the route and the subsequent celebration.
The pink march will start from Plaza de España and proceed through various streets, including Miguel de Cervantes, Avenida de Andalucía, Cronista Martín Jiménez, Puerta Osuna, Ancha, Puerta Cerrada, San Juan Bosco, plaza Matadero, ronda de San Agustín, Avenida de los emigrantes, Plaza de Colón, Calzada, Merinos, Berbisa, Plaza Agiles y Rubio, concluding at Parque de San Pablo, where a musical gathering and a solidarity bar will be held.
Mayor Silvia Heredia praised the professionals on the Security Board and welcomed the new chief inspector of the National Police for Écija, D. Francisco Pedro López Caballero.
