The organization has expressed its critical stance on the economic allocation for Andalusian public universities. While acknowledging the effort, the Platform emphasizes that this measure is a result of social mobilization and does not fully meet the expectations of the Funding Model agreed upon for April 2025.
In this context, the Platform has praised the position of the rector of the University of Jaén, who maintained a dissenting voice and abstained from voting in the Andalusian University Council (CAU). This support is based on the persistent unfavorable situation faced by the Jaén university and the lack of effective materialization of promised compensations.
“"What Jaén cannot and must not lose is its pride and dignity."
The Platform's roadmap includes two key events to maintain pressure. On Friday, April 24, a round table with leading political candidates will be held, rescheduled to facilitate their attendance. Subsequently, on April 29, the Plaza de las Batallas in Jaén capital will host a public protest to demand respect for the institution and strict compliance with funding agreements.
The entity insists that its primary objective is to ensure that the Junta de Andalucía fulfills its commitments and does not penalize the University of Jaén for the local civil society's capacity for advocacy, in the face of what they consider an still insufficient funding model.
