The 'Ciudad de Úbeda' International Music and Dance Festival, in its 38th edition, launches the Music and Heritage cycle, a series of ten concerts that, from May 21 to June 27, will transform emblematic city buildings into musical stages with a charitable purpose, supported by the Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation.

The initiative, presented by Elena Rodríguez, Councilor for Culture; Esteban Ocaña, director of the Úbeda Festival; and Luis Jesús García-Lomas, manager of the Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation, seeks to offer a cultural experience that goes beyond music, integrating the historical and architectural value of the venues. The program includes solo recitals, chamber music, and scenic proposals with the participation of renowned artists.
Among the chosen venues are the Oratorio de San Juan de la Cruz, the Church of San Lorenzo, the Vela de los Cobos Palace, the Minor Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares, the Hospital de Santiago Auditorium, the Don Luis de la Cueva Palace, La Cultural, the Casa de las Torres, and the Church of Santo Domingo. The cycle will kick off on May 21 with ‘La noche sosegada’ at the Oratorio de San Juan de la Cruz, performed by María del Mar Poyatos.
The program will feature works such as Johann Sebastian Bach'sGoldberg Variations’ on May 22 at the Church of San Lorenzo, performed by Luis Rubén Gallardo, Jesús Ruiz Alex, and Mikhail Milman. Other concerts will include the Icarus duo on May 27 at the Vela de los Cobos Palace, and piano recitals with Muñoz Cañivano on June 4 at the Minor Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares and with Daniel del Pino on June 11 at the Church of San Lorenzo.

"We are facing an event that celebrates 38 editions and has become a cultural reference not only in Andalusia, but also throughout the country."

The cycle will also offer innovative proposals such as ‘Motus Vitae’ on June 18 at the Don Luis de la Cueva Palace, with cellist Jeremías Sanz and pianist Pablo Prieto, and ‘Música, espejo del cuento’ on June 19 at the Hospital de Santiago Auditorium, with Nono Granero Moya and José Javier Delgado. The closing event will be on June 27 at the Church of Santo Domingo with a performance by Linares Ensemble.
The Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to the festival, highlighting the alignment of this initiative with its values of supporting culture, heritage, and knowledge. Furthermore, a portion of the ticket proceeds will be allocated to a solidarity cause in Úbeda, reinforcing the social impact of the event.
