On Friday, May 1, due to Labor Day, most supermarkets in Jaén remained closed to ensure staff rest. However, normalcy returns on Saturday, May 2, when the vast majority of commercial establishments will open their doors with their usual schedules.
Among the establishments resuming activity are Supermercados Masymas, which will operate in split shifts from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with the exception of its location at Calle San Clemente 14, which will offer continuous hours from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM. Supermercados Dani, with its sole store on Calle Doce Apóstoles, will open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Large retailers such as Carrefour and Lidl will also open on Saturday, with hours from 09:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Meanwhile, Supermercados Dia and Mercadona will serve the public from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and from 09:00 AM to 9:30 PM, respectively. El Corte Inglés also joins the reopening, with hours from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
For Supermercados Covirán, the decision to open or close on the holiday rests with each individual store, as they are managed by self-employed workers. The Jaén Supply Markets, including the San Francisco Market and the Peñamefécit Market, confirmed their closure on May 1.
